Main tasks attributed in the project
Atos is leading the WP4 about virtualization of femto stations and the control of them as restricted computing resources. Atos will elaborate the advanced cloud scenarios in WP5 where the results of WP4 are integrated. Atos will participate to the demo scenarios (WP6) in the project. On the other hand, Atos will contribute to the analysis of both the market context and the exploitation routes of the project outcomes with special focus on impact for Telecom operators in the adoption.

The Service Engineering & IT Platforms Lab in Atos research, focuses its research in Cloud Computing, Service Management and Engineering and Open Source technologies. It investigates advanced capabilities of Cloud Infrastructures offered in IaaS way as well as new tools and techniques for advances SaaS. Relevant research projects coordinated by Atos and linked to the proposal are FP7 IP BonFIRE project (www.bonfire-project.eu) about designing, building and operating a multi-cloud facility for experimentation and FP7 IP OPTIMIS project (www.optimis-project.eu) about optimising the deployment of services on top of hybrid clouds (public & private) considering parameters of trust, risk, eco-efficiency and cost. FP7 STREP SmartLM about a virtualized software license management framework in distributed computing systems.
